About Joan Veronica Trojillo
Thank you for visiting my site.
I am Joan Veronica Trojillo. I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful daughters.
It was in 2013 when I got tired of living paycheck to paycheck, and decided to get a financial overhaul. Not knowing where to start, God led me to Bo Sanchez's Truly Rich Club. I was scrolling through my Facebook feed, saw an invitation about his How to Heal Yourself Naturally seminar, I registered my mother, my aunt and myself (because I will be driving for them). At the end of the seminar, Bro. Bo mentioned the Truly Rich Club which has a mission of helping good people become truly rich, and he also invited the attendees to The Feast, a spiritual community.
As soon as I got home, I signed up for Truly Rich Club. And the Sunday after that, I was attending the 8am session of The Feast in PICC, driving all the way from Tarlac. The rest was history.
I learned to change my whole mindset about money. I looked for mentors, read financial books, listened to audiobooks during long drives, recognized opportunities as side hustles for additional income, attended seminars, shifted from being a spender to a saver and an investor, and most importantly, I immediately applied everything I was learning. This lifelong journey and continuous learning brought about the birth of this blog, Financial Planning for Pinoys.
While working as a Medical Representative, I had side hustles to increase my income. I was an affiliate marketer, I sold clothes varying from brand new to ukay ukay, I distributed organic liniment, I organized agricultural tours, and I became a Licensed Financial Professional. As an employee, my goal then was to be able to quit my job before I turn 40, to be able to take care of our young kids.
Five years later, with a lot of long hours working, prospecting and sending proposals while waiting for coverage at doctors' clinics, meeting up with clients in Manila everytime I drive for doctors to and from the airport, consuming my VLs not for vacation but to attend trainings, living a frugal lifestyle so I can save more while increasing my income, I was able to quit my job in May of 2018 -- not before I turn 40, but before I turn 36! I have ticked off my ultimate goal! And it was very fulfilling as I spend each day and each night with our kids. Not only do I see them grow over the years, but I am happy to be growing with them, too.
Fast forward to 2024, I realized that my biggest why then, which was to be able to quit employment to take care of our kids, was actually just a small dream, as it was only a dream that I had for myself.
God created us exactly the way we are for a SPECIFIC PURPOSE that only we can accomplish.
I began to dream again, but this time, for something bigger than myself. I am on a mission to help end the Sandwich Generation, educating Filipinos, through one blog post at a time.
And this fuels me to wake up early every morning, thanking God for another day to be closer to that goal. And every part of that journey is shared in this blog.
You did not come across this site at random. You are exactly where God needs you to be. God has planted a purpose for your life, too. And when you live out your purpose, you are not only blessing others, but believe that this is also God's way of blessing you.
May all your dreams come true,
Joan
