LEARNINGS FROM THE FEAST BAY AREA: Abundance is Here by Bro. Bo Sanchez (January 15, 2023)

The talk began with our favorite prayer at The Feast..

Today, I receive all of God's love for me.

Today, I open myself to the unbounded, limitless, overflowing abundance of God's universe.

Today, I open myself to God's blessings, healing and miracles.

Today, I open myself to God's Word so that I become more like Jesus everyday.

Today, I proclaim that I'm God's Beloved, I'm God's Servant, I'm God's Powerful Champion,

And because I am blessed, I am blessing the world,

In Jesus' Name, Amen!

Here are a few takeaways from Bro. Bo Sanchez' introduction. I decided to write a separate post for the main talk as there is already so much value in this short intro alone..

  • God is an abundant God. Every blessing that you need is already available to you. It is available in God's supply room.
  • God plants seeds in our lives. He gives us seeds, and sometimes we do not see these seeds because we are expecting fruits. He wants you to plant the seeds, and water the seeds, and do a lot of work. And in time these seeds will bear fruit, and all the blessings that we need are there.
  • While we think that God is not blessing us, begin thinking that God is giving us a lot of seeds.
  • Are you ready in 2023 to go to work? Are you ready to work on your relationships? Family? Finances? Health?
  • Money will not make you happy. But a right relationship with money will make you happy. You can relate to money in three ways. You can relate to money as god. You can relate to money as the devil. And you can relate to money as a servant. Treat this servant well. The more servants, the better.
  • Look at your purpose. Your purpose is to love, to be a blessing and to serve. That is also the purpose of money: to love, to be a blessing and to serve.

Bro. Bo closes it by leading us in prayer..

Father, I receive every blessing that you want to give to me. You are an abundant God. This is an abundant universe. Every blessing I need, I receive today. Thank You, Lord, that You will empower me to work on those seeds and to make them grow and bear fruit. In Jesus' Name, Amen.

Be very blessed!

LEARNINGS FROM THE TRULY RICH CLUB: How to Have Financial Breakthrough in 2023 with Brother Bo Sanchez and Mr. Edward Lee

Time check: 2:09 AM

It has been a long day of household chores, taking care of kids, training and exchanging messages with colleagues that I just had the time now to watch the replay of last Saturday's webinar by Brother Bo Sanchez and Mr. Edward Lee on the topic mentioned above.

Short storytelling. For the past years since the pandemic and zoom meetings became a thing, it has become my habit to take screenshots instead of writing down notes. It's easier and more convenient. But the problem with this is that the photos become part of my gallery's dump, and eventually forgotten.

And so I realized that I have to go back to writing. And because this blog is my digital journal, this is also my way of sharing these valuable lessons with you.

Happy Learning!

Talk 1. THREE ELEMENTS OF A FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH

1. Change your story.
  • Inner force: the need for consistency
  • We have the desire to be consistent with our story, regardless if this story is true or not
  • We are all prophetic storytellers. Your words are self-fulfilling prophecies, and so we have to be careful with the stories we say.
Examples:

     a. Old Story: "I will always be poor."
New Story to tell yourself: "I'm already rich."

     b. Old Story: "I'm poor because of my (dad, boss, friend, wife, family, past...)"
New Story: "I'm taking full responsibility for my financial future and it will                              be prosperous.

     c. Old Story: "The stock market is too complicated for me."
New Story: "I'm a stock market investor."

     d. Old Story: "I'm not good with money."
New Story: "I'm very good with money."

2. Change your standards.

  • Aspiration versus Acceptable
  • Your level of aspiration is strong, but your level of acceptance is 10x more powerful
  • At a certain point, you will say, "okay na." (I have personally experienced this, and so I can relate.)
  • What you should do is look at the people around you. Think bigger. Madami pang pwedeng tulungan. Find a way to increase your level of acceptability.

3. Change your system.

Design your life to reach your standard or level of acceptance. How?

     a. Change your people. As Jim Rohn said, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." We can also say that, "Your income will be the average of the income of the five people you spend the most time with."

Start hanging out with people who are great with money, and see your income grow little by little.

     b. Change your media. You are more influenced by your world more than you think.

     Reject mental garbage.

When you value yourself, you will value your time, and you will value what you feed your mind.

Win your morning to win your day!

Talk 2. HOW TO HAVE THE BREAKTHROUGH INCOME

  • Repetition is the mother of all skills.
  • Out of 30 Billionaires in the Philippines, 22 are Chinese.
  • "In the Philippines, the 1% Chinese control as much as 60% of the private economy." - Amy Chua, written on her book World on Fire

What do they have that others do not have?

  1. High Financial IQ. Have a positive attitude towards money.
  2. Entrepreneurial Mindset.
  • In your job, your most important income is not your salary, but your skill and your network?
  • People often ask, "Ano'ng magandang negosyo ngayon?" As if there is a general answer to it. Remember the time when pandesal became the "in" business? Or when milk tea were? Or shawarma? Etc.?
  • The answer to this question is within you. You have to ask yourself, what is your gift? What is your anointing? What is your skill? Focus and that and use that.
  • Start a side-business based on your skill.
  • Psalms 22:29 says, "Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will serve before Kings; he will not serve before obscure men."
  • Your business should be based on your skill, your gifting and your network.
  • Spiritual people can be prosperous people, because spiritual people love to serve. Let service be the core of your business (I love this part!) and then scale up.
  • The only path to real prosperity is through excellent service.

Two Kinds of Income:
  1. Active Income: You exchange your time for money
  2. Passive Income: You exchange your money for more money

Talk 3. HOW TO HAVE BREAKTHROUGH INCOME

Four Stages of Investing:
  1. Unconscious incompetence (Ignorance)
  2. Conscious incompetence (Awareness)
  3. Conscious Competence (Learning)
  4. Unconscious Competence (Mastery)

When 25 years old today reach 60,

Only 1% will be wealthy.
Only 4% will be financially independent.
5% will need to work.
27% will be dead.
63% will be BROKE!

Why?

Because there is a lack of understanding of the Three Basic Laws of Money:

Rule #1 : Save 10% to 20% of your income.

Rule #2 : Invest it.

Rule #3 : Reinvest to benefit from the power of compounding.

There are Two Kinds of Failure

1. Action without thinking.
2. Thinking without action.

Thank you for reading until the end! I pray that you experience many financial breakthroughs this 2023 for yourself, your family, your friends and loved ones, and for your ministry. May God bless the work of our hands and be a channel of His blessings! Amen.

Be very blessed!

Getting a Home Loan? Consider Having a Life Insurance Policy for your Bank's Mortgage Redemption Insurance (MRI) Requirement. (May apply to existing home loans, too!)

It was four years ago when I received an unexpected call from my husband's colleague. And his first question to me was, "Joan, kapag ba kukuha ng insurance policy, kailangan bang magbayad na agad? Eh ipapa-medical pa Misis ko, hindi pa sure if ma-approve agad un." (Joan, when applying for an insurance policy, do I need to pay already? My wife will still go through medical, and it is not yet sure if she will be approved.")

I told him I'm not sure about the process with other companies. But with Insular Life, I informed him that his wife could apply for an insurance policy now, and have the initial premium debited from their bank account once it is approved. Being more comfortable with that, we set a meeting that same week.

During that client call, the couple told me that they are applying for a Php7-million home loan and are planning to use the life insurance policy for the Mortgage Redemption Insurance or MRI. An MRI is a form of life insurance that pays off the insured's outstanding mortgage balance in case of his or her untimely death. This is one of the bank's requirements when applying for a home loan.

Many may oppose shelling out precious pesos for an MRI, as they feel that they already have too many financial obligations. But the truth is, an MRI does not only protect the bank, which the insurance guarantees that the bank will be paid back the amount it has lent, but more importantly, an MRI also protects the insured's surviving family as it settles the outstanding home loan balance.

The excess of the insurance benefit as the home loan balance decreases, will be given to the beneficiaries.

If you have an existing life insurance policy, you can assign your policy to your bank, regardless of which bank you are getting the home loan from and which company your life insurance policy is from. If you have none, the bank will require you to get an MRI, which is usually incorporated to your housing loan payment.

But because the MRI is renewed every year, the premium payment goes down the drain in case nothing happens to the borrower on that covered year. This makes getting a life insurance policy instead the practical option for such purpose as no premium goes to waste.

My client applied for a Php7M life insurance policy with Insular Life, the first and largest Filipino-owned insurance company, and the only mutual insurance company in the country today. We then attached a Php1M critical illness rider to the policy, wherein my client gets that Php1M lump sum 30 days after diagnosis of any major critical illness, regardless if she is still paying off her home loan or not. With InLife, you can apply for a maximum of Php10M for this rider.

Over the paying years, their home loan balance decreases. And if anything happens to the insured, only the outstanding balance goes to the bank. While the excess from her Php7M life insurance policy goes to her beneficiaries.

When the loan is paid off, what happens to the policy?

Since a life insurance policy is a whole life coverage, it is assigned back to her beneficiaries from the bank after the home loan is paid in full. My client can keep her Php7M life insurance in force, plus gets to enjoy the investment part of the policy once she retires.

My client is known to be frugal and very good in handling money. This is also the reason why she referred me to her friends who also applied for home loans. As she said, "Reasonable kasi yung angle na un." (That angle is reasonable.)

And now, they are on their fourth year!

Four years of paying their home loan.
Four years of paying her life insurance policy.
And every premium paid guarantees that their home loan balance is paid in full incase of the borrower's untimely demise.
It also guarantees a Php1M lump sum in case of critical illness diagnosis.
And helps provide a golden nest egg for retirement.

And that is VALUE FOR MONEY indeed.
